Basketball

Basketball training takes place every week in the sports hall after school. It is an opportunity for students to practise their skills, make new friends and get fit while playing a team sport. Competitions take place during the year with games against other Dublin schools during the school term.

2023-24 was a very successful year for basketball in our school. The boys under 16 team won an all-Ireland final, beating Kilcullen in the National Basketball Arena.

Our 1st year boys team also qualified for a Dublin semi-final, and were unlucky to lose out to a strong Gonzaga team on the day. Next year, the boys will be competing in the ‘A’ Division.

The girls’ basketball teams also had a great year. The first year and second year girls’ basketball teams competed really well, and were very unlucky not to qualify for Dublin finals.

Our U16 girls team have also had huge success under the guidance of coach Ms Lynch and have recently won the Leinster Championship in the National Basketball Arena.
