Syllabus
Students are required to study the core and two optional
areas within Applied Graphics. The syllabus is broken down into two compulsory areas:
The syllabus comprises 3 fundamental areas of study:
- Plane and Descriptive Geometry
- Communication of Design and Computer Graphics
- Applied Graphics
The optional areas of study (Part Two) are offered within Applied Graphics where students are introduced to graphic applications in the fields of engineering, science and the human environment.
Students of Design and Communication Graphics should:
- Enjoy carrying out neat and accurate work.
- Be interested in designing and planning things.
- Be keen to learn more about computer aided design and computer aided manufacture.
Note: Accepted instead of a science subject in many Engineering and Architectural Courses.
Examination
There are two assessment components:
Student assignment
40% of the examination marks, of which CAD will form a significant and compulsory component
Examination
3 hour Examination 60% of the examination marks
